Kashmir: Pakistani troops violate ceasefire along LoC in Naushera district, Indians retaliate

Another ceasefire violation was reported along the LoC in Naushera sector of Rajouri district late Monday night. Pakistani troops fired from small arms and shelled mortar bombs on forward posts as Indian forces retaliated. “There was ceasefire violation by Pak troops along the LoC in Naushera sector of Rajouri district”, a defence spokesman said.

No injuries from the Indian sides were reported as Pakistani troops fired 82 mm mortar bombs, used small and automatic weapons in the firing on forward Indian posts in Laam Battalion area in Naushera from 2030 hours to 0130 hours, the spokesman said. Few rounds were also fired in Naushera sector late last night.

Till now about 29 ceasefire violations have been reported along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir after the surgical strikes by the Army were carried out in PoK to dismantle terror launching pads.

Here is a brief timeline:

October 16: Two ceasefire violations along LoC in Naushera and Rajouri sectors claimed one life

October 8:  Mendhar Krishnagati sector in Poonch district injured a jawan.

October 5: Poonch and Rajouri districts were targeted.

October 4: 10 forward areas with mortar shells in four areas of Jammu, Poonch and Rajouri districts were attacked.

October 3: Four ceasefire violations were reported in Saujian, Shahpur-Kerni, Mandi and KG sectors in Poonch district.

October 2: Pallanwala belt of Jammu district was attacked.

On October 1: Pakistani troops had shelled Indian posts and civilian areas with mortar bombs, RPGS and HMGS.
