Two women aged below 50 have entered the Sabarimala sanctorum in Kerala on Wednesday. This is the first time a woman of a menstrual age has entered the shrine. The shrine which has been kept out of bounds for women in their menstrual age was made open by a Supreme Court ruling but has been continued to be restricted.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinaarayi Vijayan confirmed the news while addressing media. “It is true that two women climbed the shrine and the police gave them protection”, he said.
According to the reports policemen accompanied the two women. They began the journey starting from Pamba base camp and reached the temple in less than four hours, by 3:45 am.
