Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy was caught on camera giving orders to “kill mercilessly” the attackers who murdered a local leader of his Janata Dal(Secular) party, Honnalagere Prakash.
In the video, Kumaraswamy was heard saying, “He (Prakash) was a very good man. I don’t know who did this and why. But Kill them (assailants) mercilessly in a shootout, there is no problem,” Kumaraswamy is heard saying in the video clip.
Prakash was attacked by unidentified men with machetes on Monday in south Karnataka’s Mandya district while he was travelling in his car in Maddur.
Kumaraswamy was reportedly briefed about the murder by the intelligence department as soon as he landed in the Vijayapura district. JDS worker H Prakash was murdered two days ago in South Karnataka’s Mandya by four men. The alleged killers were earlier arrested in connection with two murder cases and are currently out on bail.
Kumaraswamy, however, denied the allegations and said that it was not an order he passed as a Chief Minister, but, instead, an emotional outburst.
