A Kolkata-based educator was arrested for allegedly accepting money in exchange for a NEET merit list spot, police revealed on Wednesday.
The accused promised a medical college seat in Kolkata to a student’s parent, demanding Rs 12 lakh, of which Rs 5 lakh was paid. The investigation is ongoing.
The police are probing whether the accused is part of a larger racket. The arrest followed a complaint lodged at Shakespeare Sarani Police Station. Allegations of irregularities in the NEET 2023 exam conducted by the National Testing Agency have been mounting.
