Kolkata Minor Girl Gang-Rape Case:A shocking case from Kolkata has triggered outrage after a minor girl allegedly accused several men of drugging and gang-raping her inside a moving car while filming the assault.
Police have launched a massive hunt for the accused and are also trying to trace the vehicle used in the crime, officials said. The complaint was filed by the victim’s mother at Kolkata’s Sarsuna police station, where she claimed that around a month ago two men gave her daughter a lift in a car in the Behala stretch of the city but they drugged her and then gang-raped her.

As per the first police impressions, the survivor said she was lured in first and then made to eat chocolate that was allegedly blended with sedatives, before she was pushed into the vehicle. The whole thing reportedly happened around the Sarsuna area in south Kolkata. Investigators also said the accused apparently made obscene videos during the assault and later used that footage as a kind of intimidation, telling the girl things to keep her quiet.
A senior police officer told PTI that the incidenthappened in Aprilafter the girl accepted the lift in a vehicle near Behala. He added that one of her acquaintances was in the car too.
“During the ride, the girl was allegedly made to consume a food item after which she fell unconscious. She later stated that she regained awareness at another place and realised she had been sexually assaulted,” the officer said.
The complainant stated that the minor fell unconscious after being fed a drug-laced food. She later regained consciousness at a different location and realised she had been sexually assaulted.

Police Register FIR, Probe Underway
The Kolkata Police has registered a case under multiple serious charges, including gang rape, criminal intimidation, kidnapping, and provisions related to crimes against minors.
The FIR has been lodged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) provisions and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, police said in a statement.
Meanwhile, officers are going through CCTV footage from the nearby routes too, and they’re also scrutinising vehicle movement data, to pin down the car and eventually narrow down or track down the accused persons.
“The victim’s family approached police after some delay, as the girl was reportedly suffering from trauma. Statements have been recorded, and all angles are being examined,” the officer said.
Police are also looking into the role of another girl mentioned in the complaint, he added.
Investigators are also examining digital evidence, including mobile phone records and any possible circulation of the alleged video clip. Authorities have not publicly revealed the identity of the victim in accordance with Indian laws protecting survivors of sexual offences.
