2026 VinFast VF8 Electric SUV:Vietnamese EV maker VinFast has officially unveiled the second-generation 2026 VinFast VF8 electric SUV, bringing a major overhaul in design, technology, comfort, and driving dynamics. The updated midsize electric SUV now promises a claimed driving range of up to 500 km, advanced ADAS features, revised dimensions, and an all-new cabin layout aimed at global markets including Asia and North America.
New-Generation VinFast VF8: What’s New?
The new-generation VF8 is the first VinFast model to transition into the brand’s updated design and engineering philosophy. Compared to the outgoing model, the SUV now gets sharper styling, redesigned LED lighting elements, improved aerodynamics and a more premium cabin experience.
VinFast has also slightly reduced the overall dimensions of the SUV to improve agility and efficiency. The 2026 VF8 measures 4,701 mm in length, 1,872 mm in width, and has a wheelbase of 2,840 mm. Despite being smaller than before, the company claims better ride comfort and improved chassis tuning.
2026 VinFast VF8 Electric SUV: 500 Km Claimed Driving Range
One of the biggest highlights of the updated VF8 is its claimed driving range of up to 500 km on a single charge. The SUV now uses this new 60.13 kWh battery pack and it’s paired with a front mounted electric motor that makes roughly 228 bhp and 330 Nm torque.
The whole new powertrain arrangement has been tuned more for improved efficiency and a smoother sort of pull. VinFast has also bumped up the charging abilities a bit too, with fast charging support expected to top up the battery pretty quickly, so long-distance driving feels less like a chore.
Safety Features
The 2026 VF8 receives a full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which includes:
- Adaptive cruise control
- Lane-keeping assist
- Blind-spot monitoring
- 360-degree camera
- Autonomous emergency braking
- Driver monitoring systems
The company has focused heavily on software improvements and vehicle intelligence after earlier feedback on the previous-generation VF8 in global markets.

Inside the cabin, the new VF8 gets a cleaner and more futuristic dashboard layout. A large 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen dominates the dashboard, while a dedicated digital driver display has now been added for better usability.
Other key interior highlights include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, rear seats that recline, abd wireless connectivity features. It is also equipped with memory seats, OTA software updates and a heads-up display.
Global Launch Timeline And Expected Price
Bookings for the new-generation VF8 are planned to kick off in Vietnam starting May 27, 2026, and deliveries are expected to roll out by late July 2026. The electric SUV is being quoted at around VND 999 million, which comes to nearly ₹36.5 lakh in Indian terms.
VinFast still hasnt officially confirmed the India timeline for the updated VF8, but the brand keeps pushing deeper into the Indian EV market with other upcoming offerings. Many industry watchers think the new VF8 may eventually arrive in India, as the premium electric SUV space gets more crowded and the rivals heat up.
