Kuchaikote Assembly Constituency 2025:Kuchaikote is Assembly Constituency No. 102 in the Gopalganj district of Bihar. As per the delimitation order of 2008, it comprises the Kuchaikote and Pachdeuri community development blocks.

The population in the Kuchaikote block is over 332,000 (2011 census) and farming is the mainstay: agriculture, pulses, grains and sugarcane figure prominent in the local economy. Infrastructure is improving but there are persistent complaints about roads, health centres, and electricity/mobility in more remote villages.

Voters and Local Issues

Caste and community-wise, there is a significant Brahmin presence, which historical voting patterns show is influential. Also, substantial numbers of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and Muslim voters are part of the electorate. Migration is another issue: many youth migrate out for work, which affects both local economy and political engagement.

Kuchaikote Assembly Constituency 2025: Recent Political History

Since its re-establishment (post-2008 delimitation), Kuchaikote has been a seat where Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)] has had a strong hold. Amrendra Kumar Pandey has won the last three Assembly elections (2010, 2015, 2020) from this seat.

Before that, there were more fluctuations: in 2005, RJD’s Sunil Kumar Pushpam won; in 2000, JD(U)’s Gajendra Prasad Himansu; earlier in the 1990s and 1980s, Congress and Janata (or its variants) had some strength.

The margin of victory in 2020 for JD(U) was quite comfortable (~20,630 votes) versus 2015 when the margin was narrow (~3,562 votes), suggesting some volatility or competitive pressure, especially from Congress, LJP, etc.

Election Numbers (2010–2020)

In 2010, Amrendra Kumar Pandey (JD(U)) got ~51,815 votes and won with a margin of ~19,518.

In 2015, although Pandey again won, the margin shrank to ~3,562 votes against Kali Prasad Pandey of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP).

In 2020, Pandey’s vote tally increased (~74,359 votes), and the margin rose again (~20,630 votes) over Congress’s candidate. Vote-share was ~41.19% for JD(U) vs ~29.76% for Congress.

These fluctuations suggest that while JD(U) is strong, opposition consolidation or particular local issues and candidates can narrow the gap. Also, “NOTA” (None of the Above) has had non-negligible counts in recent elections, sometimes more than the margin. For example, in 2015, NOTA votes in Kuchaikote were more than the margin of victory.
