At least eleven CRPF personnel were killed in a Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Saturday. “At least 11 CRPF jawans have lost their lives in a Maoist attack in Sukma’s Bhejja,” said Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh as per the reports.

Reportedly, Naxals looted 10 weapons along with radio sets of the killed CRPF jawans. The targeted personnel were from Battalion 219 of the CRPF.

The attack happened when the troops were on a road opening exercise in the region. Notably, a former Sarpanch in Sukma district was killed by Naxalites over distrust of his conspiracy with the police.

PM Narendra Modi offered condolences to the jawans who lost their lives in the attack. “Saddened over the loss of lives in Sukma,” he said.
