Cyber-hate campaign: This year, Lisa from BLACKPINK has seen her fair share of difficulties in the form of cyberbullying and Cyber-hate campaign. Each incident has been upsetting for both Lisa and her devoted followers. A recent incident, however, has increased worries because Lisa’s entire family was the target of a spike in online hate speech.
According to reports, “antis,” or people who disagree with or despise the musician, and a specific group known as “akgae fans,” are the sources of this increased antagonism. By definition, akgae fans are individuals who fervently support a certain member of a group while harbouring animosity or contempt for the other members.
In a disturbing turn of events, some akgae followers are seeking to defend their animosity towards Lisa’s family. They assert that they are “giving them a taste of their own medicine” because a segment of Lisa’s akgae fans allegedly harassed the family members of another member of BLACKPINK, Jennie, on social media sites like Instagram.
This never-ending game of finger-pointing has only made things worse and bred a hostile environment that not only hurts the artists but also their defenceless families. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the damaging effects of online hostility and the significance of establishing a more compassionate and courteous online environment.
Like everyone else, celebrities have a private life that should be respected, and this includes any members of their families who may not have chosen to be in the spotlight.
