In Andhra Pradesh everyone expected Congress and BJP to trail during the 2019 elections as there it is always a two horse race between TDP and YSRCP but the outcome turned worse than expected.
The category of NOTA (None of the above) as per the numbers got more votes than the two national parties in both the Lok Sabha and assembly elections in the state this time.
NOTA got 1.5 percent votes on the Lok Sabha seats while BJP hot 0.96 percent, Congress managed to do marginally well with 1.29 percent.
The result was no different in assembly elections in the state this time, NOTA got 1.28 percent votes while BJP got 0.84 percent and Congress 1.27 percent.
Congress which is considered as the party that bifurcated Andhra Pradesh was defeated in 2014 elections and had received 2.8 percent votes at that time.
