Lok Sabha elections 2019: Samajwadi Party releases first candidate list, Mulayam Singh Yadav to contest from Mainpuri

Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party (SP) on Friday released the first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In the list, the party which formed an alliance with Bahujan Samaj Party, has announced six of it’s candidates for the General elections.

The list includes SP party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav, who will contest from the Mainpuri seat and Akhilesh Yadav’s cousins Dharmendra Yadav and Akshay Yadav. Along with them, the names of Kamlesh Katheria, Bhailal Kol and Shabbir Balmiki are also announced.

Currently, Mulayam Singh Yadav is an MP from the Azamgarh constituency. He had earlier represented Mainpuri in 1996, 2004 and 2009. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Mulayam had contested from two constituencies of Azamgarh and Mainpuri and had registered victory in both.

Akshay will contest from Firozabad, from where he had won the last parliamentary elections.

Dharmendra will contest once again from the seat that he has already won thrice.

Kamlesh Katheria from Yadav family’s will fight from Etawah, Bhailal Kol from Robertsganj and Shabbir Ahmad Balmiki from Bahraich. These three names have been declared on the reserved seat.
