Brazil’s rugby team didn’t win a medal, but the match on Wednesday turned out to be a memorable one for each person present in the stadium. Brazilian rugby player Isadora Cerullo had the surprise of her life when her girlfriend Brazilian stadium manager Marjorie Enya grabbed the microphone and proposed her on the field!
The proposal came in full view of the spectators and a stunned Cerullo took her time before accepting the proposal. The entire stadium let out a collective ‘awww’ when Brazilian rugby player Isadora Cerullo and her girlfriend got engaged in public at the Deodoro Stadium in Rio.
“She is the love of my life,” Enya told BBC. “I know rugby people are amazing and they would embrace it.” The couple has been together for about two years. Women’s rugby sevens have just been added to the Olympics and Brazil qualified because it was the host country. Enya and Cerullo, live in Sao Paolo together and Cerullo has dual U.S. and Brazilian citizenship.
Enya and Cerullo look forward to continuing their lives together. Enya said, “The Olympic Games can look like closure but, for me, it’s starting a new life with someone. I wanted to show people that love wins.”
