Bhopal: On Wednesday, the task to make the roads cattle free has begun and is already at its full swing. More than 200 cattle have been sent to various gaushalas(cowsheds) till now.

Mayor Alok Sharma informed media that the work has started with dividing city in two zones. It was also shared that incase the initiative attains success, it’ll further be implemented on the whole state. Different deputies have been commissioned for the old and new city. On Tuesday a warning was issued telling dairies to not let their cattle come free.

On Friday, UP Animal Husbandry minister SP Singh Bhagel had offered Rs 6000 to raise 200 cows in five bigha land to the farmers of the state. Government will give money at a rate of Rs 30 per cow, he said. The amount turns out to be Rs 1.8 lac per month.

Baghel was addressing BJP held Kisan Morcha at Uday Garden situated at Agra road, Aligarh. Heads, farmers, general secretaries, office bearers from 16 districts came to the event. Baghel said, “I feel the pain of farmers, they stay up every night to keep care of the crops. People ask about solutions for the problem of cattle and not electricity, water, roads”. Baghel also said that the problem has a permanent solution and work has begun on it.

2 weeks back the UP government had decided to bring an additional tax of 0.5 percent as cow welfare cess.
