A Farmer family in Sheopur district has been ostracised following a cow’s death in an accident on Tuesday. Following the accident, village panchayat decided to ostracise Pappu Prajapati along with his family.

The cow had lost its life after being hit by tractor-trolley when the the farmer, Pappu Prajapati was parking the vehicle.

In its verdict, Panchayat announced that after all the members take a dip in the holy river of Ganga would they allow family to enter the village. The family must also organize ‘Kanya & Brahman Bhoj’, donate cow and organize a feast.

Ignoring any and all pleas by Prajapati, panchayat adjudged that “Since Prajapati has been proved guilty of a gau-hatya, he and his family have to get rid of sin through penance”.

Reportedly, Prajapati and his family have left the village for taking a dip in the holy river, Ganga.

Earlier, the SP in Meerut following Bulandshahr killings had said that if “beef is found in a house it means the family members are hiding a crime and helping those who are involved in it. Therefore, they are also equally responsible and hence will also be booked.”

The violence in Bulandshahr had broken out as a repercussion to an alleged case of cow slaughter. The officer was killed in the ensuing firing after protestors attacked a police station, setting a police van to fire.
