The statewide counting of votes for the Gram Panchayat elections began on Tuesday, December 20. In 7 135 panchayats, elections for Sarpanch and gramme panchayat members were held. The unique aspect of this election is that both the Gram Panchayat members and the Sarpanch have been elected directly.
