Maharashtra Gram Panchayat Election Result LIVE: Currently, the BJP leads in 360 seats, while the ally Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena leads in 248 seats. Opposition party NCP won 232 seats, followed by Congress with 195 and Shiv Sena (UBT) with 158.
The statewide counting of votes for the Gram Panchayat elections began on Tuesday, December 20. In 7 135 panchayats, elections for Sarpanch and gramme panchayat members were held. On Sunday, December 18, voting was held for these gramme panchayats, and an average turnout of 74% was recorded. In the meantime, many gramme panchayats, sarpanchs, and members in Maharashtra have already been elected unopposed, despite interest in the election results. This year, elections were scheduled for 7,682 gramme panchayats in 34 districts, excluding Mumbai and its suburbs. In 7 135 Gram Panchayats, however, actual voting took place on Sunday because of unopposed elections in some areas. The unique aspect of this election is that both the Gram Panchayat members and the Sarpanch have been elected directly.

In the constituency of School Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar, Vengurle taluka, the first result favours the BJP. The sarpanch of the BJP has won Chipi Gram Panchayat.
Seven out of 40 gram panchayats in Chandgad taluka have been elected unopposed. The flag of BJP has been hoisted on six of these gram panchayats.
