In a shocking incident reported, a group of people attending Sunday prayers in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur district was attacked by unidentified people with stones, bottles; leaving 12 of them injured. The incident took place on December 23, three days before Christmas at the New Life Fellowship Church in Kolhapur’s Kowad, close to the Karnataka border.

As per the Maharashtra Police, the gang attacked the victims with bottles, stones, hockey sticks, and choppers. While running towards Belagavi, the accused attacked some more people in Dindalkop and Talguli villages. Eight people who suffered head injuries were taken to a hospital in Belagavi city in Karnataka.

Police said the faces of the attackers were covered, which is making hard to identify them.

Additional Superintendent of Police Shriniwas Ghadge said no arrests have been made so far and that police were verifying CCTV footage.
