Patna: A man was arrested in Bihar’s Katihar district for posting a vulgar tweet against Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, police said on Monday.
Yogi Sanjay Nath was arrested following a complaint filed to the Bihar Cyber Crime Investigation Unit by social activist Shaheen Syed.
“We were directed to take action against Nath,” Katihar town Station House Officer Ranjan Kumar said. Nath is a resident of Vinodpur.
“Honourable Congress president has appointed Shrimati Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as AICC General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh East,” the party had said in an official release signed by General Secretary Ashok Gehlot.
The party had also appointed senior leader Jyotiraditya Scindia as AICC General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh West.
Earlier Bihar’s Bharatiya Janata Party minister Vinod Narayan Jha had made sexiest comments on Priyanka Gandhi. Calling Priyanka “beautiful”, Jha had said that “Beautiful faces don’t attract votes.”
“Votes can’t be won on basis of beautiful faces. Moreover, she is the wife of Robert Vadra who is accused of involvement in land scam and several corruption cases. She’s very beautiful but other than that she holds no political achievement,” Jha said.
When confronted by the media, Jha said that he had not said anything wrong and also refused to apologise.
