Maruti Suzuki India reported a 2% year-on-year increase in total sales for September, reaching 1,84,727 units, the company announced on Tuesday.
According to the automaker, domestic passenger vehicle sales fell by 4%, totaling 1,44,962 units. The mini segment, which includes models like Alto and S-Presso, saw marginal growth to 10,363 units. However, sales of compact cars, such as Baleno and Swift, plummeted to 60,480 units.
On a more positive note, the company’s utility vehicles, including popular models like Brezza and Ertiga, experienced a 4% rise in sales, totaling 61,549 units. Exports also showed a significant increase, jumping to 27,728 units last month.
