#MeToo India: Hindustan Times Bureau Chief Prashant Jha steps down sexual harassment allegation

Hindustan Times Bureau Chief, also the Political Editor of the tabloid has stepped down from both his roles after slapped with serious allegation of sending inappropriate messages to at least one other journalist.

According to a report Hindustan Times Editor in Chief, R. Sukumar wrote an e-mail to the staff members of Hindustan Times breaking the news of Jha resigning.

Sukumar Wrote:

“Hi All,

Prashant Jha has stepped down as the Chief of Bureau and Political Editor of Hindustan Times with immediate effect.

The bureau will report to me for the time being.”

 

Prashant will stay on as a reporter, but will have no managerial responsibilities. Sources said that he will be subjected to a full ICC investigation.
