The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) releases a circular allowing inter-state movement of stranded students on Thursday, April 30, 2020. In view of this, the Aligarh Muslim University advises its students to use this facility as no class, examinations, etc., are scheduled in May and June, so it must be ensured that all students reach safely to their hometowns in view of rising cases of COVID-19 in Aligarh district.

As per reports, AMU has taken up the matter with the Uttar Pradesh government to facilitate the movement of students to their respective homes.

There is a consequent potential risk of COVID-19 infection in hostels that is why it was important to get all the students safely to their homes.

The transportation arrangements for the students will be made by the UP government.

Earlier, travel arrangements by buses for students residing in Uttar Pradesh are being made by district administration to be followed for other states including Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand etc.

The process of transportation will begin on May 1, 2020. Buses will be available at Proctor’s Office. For any details, students may contact their respective Provost, DSW Proctor.
