In the meantime, Microsoft is distributing Windows 11 Build 22621.898 (KB5020044) to Insiders in the Release Preview Channel on Windows 11, version 22H2. The following new features and improvements are included in this update (via):

We added storage alerts for Microsoft OneDrive subscribers to the Settings app’s Systems page. When you are nearing your storage limit, the alerts appear. You can also manage your storage and, if necessary, purchase additional storage.

We now provide the total storage capacity of all your OneDrive subscriptions. It also shows the total storage capacity on the Accounts page of the Settings app.

On the Personalization page, we’ve combined Windows Spotlight and Themes. This makes it easier to find and activate the Windows Spotlight feature.

We’ve added a new feature called organisational messages. Third-party companies can now provide content to their employees using it. They are not required to use Windows’ default behaviour.

Windows 11 Build 22621.898 also addresses a slew of issues, including:

We resolved a problem that was affecting some modern applications. It prevented them from opening.
We resolved an issue that was affecting some enterprise-managed devices. We increased the dependability of their app installations.

We resolved a problem with daylight saving time (DST) in the Republic of Fiji. It cancelled Daylight Saving Time in 2022.

We resolved a problem with Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) authentication hardening. For all non-anonymous activation requests from DCOM clients, we will automatically raise the authentication level to RPC C AUTHN LEVEL PKT INTEGRITY. This happens if the authentication level is lower than Packet Integrity.

We resolved a problem that was affecting Unified Update Platform (UUP) on-premises customers. It removed the impediment to downloading offline language packs.

We resolved a problem that was affecting process creation. It failed to create security audits for it and other audit events related to it.

We resolved a problem affecting cluster name objects (CNO) or virtual computer objects (VCO). Password reset was unsuccessful. “There was an error resetting the AD password… / 0x80070005” was the error message.

We resolved a problem with transparency in layered windows. When you were in High Definition remote applications integrated locally (RAIL) mode, this happened.

We resolved an issue that was affecting certain applications. They ceased to work. This happened when you changed the input mode for the Japanese Input Method Editor using keyboard shortcuts (IME).

We resolved an issue that affected microphone streams routed to the speaker endpoint via the Listen To feature. After you restarted the device, the microphone stopped working.

We resolved a problem that could have affected applications that used the Windows Lock Down Policy (WLDP). They could have gone out of business.

We resolved a problem that occurred when Microsoft Defender was not the primary antivirus. Microsoft Defender was unable to disable passive mode. This problem occurred after you disabled Smart App Control (SAC).

We added.wcx to the list of Dangerous Extensions, which some app control policies prohibit.

We resolved a problem with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint. Live response investigations were obstructed by automated investigations.

We resolved a problem with printing in landscape mode in Microsoft Edge. The output of the printer was incorrect. This problem occurred while you were using Microsoft Defender Application Guard.

We resolved a problem that was causing File Explorer to stop working. When you closed context menus and menu items, this happened.

We resolved an issue that could have caused some apps to stop responding. This happened when you clicked the Open File button.

We addressed an issue that occasionally affected File Explorer when you opened a file. As a result, the CPU was overworked.

We resolved an issue with the Settings app’s protocol activation. The app was unable to open a page in the Accounts category.

We resolved a problem with a computer account. The use of non-standard characters halted the cleaning of Out of Box Experience (OOBE) accounts.

We resolved a problem with the CopyFile. It may have occasionally returned error 317: ERROR MR MID NOT FOUND.
