In a milestone achievement, popular messaging app, WhatsApp, has announced that it has 1 billion daily active users on its service now. WhatsApp Status has also managed to achieve more than 250 million daily active users as well.

This achievement was announced in a blog post by the Facebook-owned company. It stated that the monthly active user base has increased to 1.3 billion. Also, around 55 billion messages are shared daily in 60 different languages, supported by the app. Per day, 1 billion videos are shared and 4.5 pictures are shared through the app.

When Facebook acquired WhatsApp, it had only 450 million monthly users at that time, while daily monthly users were just 350 million. In just two years, the company managed to increase its total monthly users to 1 billion in February 2014.

WhatsApp Status, launched in early 2017, has managed to increase its user base to 250 million every day within six months. On the other hand, Snapchat enjoys 166 million daily active users on its entire app, including all its features

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO,  announced that Facebook enjoys over 2 billion users in total, with 1.3 billion people using it every day.

“As we celebrate this milestone, we’re committed more than ever to bringing you more useful features to enjoy, while delivering the reliability, simplicity, and security you expect with WhatsApp,” WhatsApp CEO, Jan Koum stated.
