3 months after MJ Akbar resigned from his post of Union Minister following sexual allegations, the official magazine for Pravasi Bharatiya Divas event is said to have featured him with the designation “Minister of State for External Affairs.”
MJ Akbar can also be seen in the event posters alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
The event for Pravasi Bharatiya Divas happens once every two years and the 2019 edition in taking place in PM Narendra Modi’s constituency, Varanasi. The three day event will span from January 21 to January 23.

Earlier, in October various journalists had alleged Akbar of sexual harrasments during his time as editor of a daily.
Three days after resigning from the post of Union Minister on October 17, MJ Akbar had registered a defamation charge against Priya Ramani who was among the firsts to accuse MJ Akbar of misconduct.
