MLB The Show 24: As with last year, this will be our “living document,” which includes information about game modes, its release date, and new features as they emerge.
Since MLB The Show 24 was just announced on January 30, we don’t have much to go on quite yet, except of course that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is the cover athlete. We can still get you started, however, since developer SDS will have a lot of ground to cover in the coming weeks.
MLB The Show 24: Release Date, Exciting Game Modes, and Latest Updates
It is expected that MLB The Show 24 will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox One Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch again this year (there is still no PC version). For pre-orders, early access will begin on March 15, so the release date is March 19.
Here are the details about the collector’s edition and the other editions:
As for the Negro Leagues Edition (collector’s edition), it will cost $124.99, and there is a limited supply. On the lower end, the MVP Edition costs $84.99, which is the cheapest way to get early access. Once again, pre-ordering the basic version will not grant you early access.
Also, if you order the Negro Leagues Edition for the PS5, you will not get a physical copy, instead you will receive a download code. In other words, only Xbox Series X owners can get the physical disc with the collector’s edition. If you want to get the disc for PlayStation 5, you will have to order the standard version (all last-gen versions are digital-only this year).

All Modes
Road to the Show
MLB The Show 24’s single-player mode takes players from the minors to the majors, similar to NBA 2K24’s MyCareer mode. For the first time, players can create female players in MLB The Show 24.
Franchise Mode
Manage player development, coaching, scouting, and trades as an MLB General Manager in Franchise Mode.
Diamond Dynasty
There are new additions to Diamond Dynasty, including an extended season lasting 12 weeks and brand-new in-season cards.
March to October
In Franchise Mode, you will be placed in key moments late in games until it is your turn to secure victory for your team.
Storylines
The Show 24 features Storylines, including Negro Leagues Season 2, which highlights 10 legendary players, and a Derek Jeter storyline available to those who pre-order certain editions.
There will be feature premieres on MLB The Show 24 every week leading up to launch on SDS’s Twitch and YouTube channels. SDS will provide information in video form every week leading up to the premiere. The full schedule is below, but SDS is being more cagey as of now about what is going to be in each feature premiere.
