Mobile Tariff Hike: From December 2020, you may have to spend 20 to 25 percent more on the phone bill. Private sector companies such as Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) may revise the tariffs once again for their services. Earlier in December 2019, telecom companies had increased the tariff.

These private sector telecom companies believe that it is difficult for the voice and data services to remain at the current price in the industry. Representatives of these companies are also negotiating with the Telecom Regulatory and Development Authority of India (TRAI).

Rates may increase from December

It is possible that Bharti Airtel and Vodafone-Idea will announce a hike in tariffs by the end of this year. These companies will increase the tariff by 20 to 25 percent. There has been a major decline in the number of customers of Vodafone-Idea recently.

Vodafone-Idea has requested TRAI to increase the rates for voice and data services. Recently Vi CEO Ravinder Takkar (Ravinder Takkar) said that telecom companies should not hesitate to increase the tariff of voice and data services. He said that Vi might announce the first tariff increase in the coming days.

On the other hand, Sunil Bharti Mittal, chairman of Bharti Airtel on Sunday said that current Mobile service rates are not logical. It is difficult to stay in the market at the current rates, so a hike in rates is necessary. He said that market conditions will be looked into before making any decision in this regard.

Earlier, in the month of August, he said that giving 16 GB of data for one month for 160 rupees is a tragedy.  For sustainable business, the average revenue per customer should first reach Rs 200 and gradually increase to Rs 300.
