Mumbai: A 20-year-old model Mansi Dixit’ body was found stuffed in a suitcase in Malad area of Mumbai on Monday.
Mansi Dixit a native of Kota, Rajasthan. She was a student and an aspiring model who used to work in an event management and designing company apart from studying. Her office was situated in Andheri next to Infinity mall.
The police have arrested a Muzammil Sayyed 19, a resident of Hyderabad living in Millat Nagar, Andheri West for the murder.
The victim and the accused were known to each other, they met on social media. On Sunday, both were seen together and the victim was at Muzzammil’s residence in Andheri where they reportedly had a fight and the accused used a sharp weapon to kill the model.
Muzammil than called Ola and stuffed the body in a suitcase and asked the cab driver to take him to Malad. There he dumped the suitcase near the mangrove area and escaped in an auto rickshaw in the broad daylight.
It was the Ola cab driver who called the police and informed that he had seen the accused dumping the suitcase and escaping from the spot.
The police later found that the girl was strangulated and stuffed in the suitcase. An FIR has been lodged by the police for murder. The Police will produce the accused today in the court before the magistrate.
The victim’s body has been sent for postmortem and the report is awaited.
