Mother Ocean Day is on May 10, and preparations are being made for its celebration. Oceans encompass three-quarters of the Earth’s surface. Originating in the ocean, the first organisms appeared on Earth. Rain, oxygen, climate, food, salinity, and other minerals, etc., are all examples of ocean-provided benefits. In essence, life on Earth would not exist without the ocean’s blessing. When necessary, the ocean can also display its ferocious nature. We are commemorating the day to express our gratitude for these gifts.
HISTORY OF MOTHER OCEAN DAY
Have you ever pondered what Earth would be like if the ocean did not exist? How would existence be, if it existed at all? The origin of water on Earth is unknown, but it has existed on the planet for four billion years. The oceans have witnessed everything: the formation of continents, the day of creation, volcanic eruptions, tectonic plate clashes, the separation of continents, reptile evolution, extinction events, mammalian conquest, and human errors and myths. It is among the most ancient objects on Earth. It existed before humanity and will continue to exist long after our time.
Additionally, the ocean is a mystery that refuses to reveal its inner workings. We have explored a greater proportion of celestial bodies than we have ocean depths. The ocean is the primary source of the oxygen we breathe and the precipitation we receive. Without the ocean, our contemporary climate would not exist. The majority of human history can be comprehended with relative ease by tracing our ancient maritime routes. Our resolve and motivation to create and innovate were strengthened by our explorations of enormous oceans. The ocean is also home to the world’s largest ecosystem, with one-fourth of all life residing there. The purpose of Mother Ocean Day is to recognise the significance of the oceans to our planet. South Florida Kayak Fishing Club established the event.
