Mumbai Police gives a witty reference to #KillFakeNews on Twitter

Mumbai Police is known for giving movie references to educate the citizen about various things on their Twitter handle. Their creative ideas have also stood out and made their own way to the citizens.

Now they are back with another one that aims to stop the growth of fake news and that is very much growing with the use of WhatsApp and other social media platforms. Especially, when the Lok Sabha Elections are going on in the country.

Lack of verification is the reason that is creating a lot of chaos and people tend to simply post the news before going into the length of it. So in order to create awareness among people and to make them differentiate between true and fake news, the Twitter account of Mumbai police has come up with a witty tweet

Their tweet reads, “All good things to those who wait’ to verify before sharing #KillFakeNews #verifybeforeyoushare #sochkesharekaro” With the tweet, they added a picture of Hannibal Lecter from the iconic Hollywood film, The Silence of the Lambs. The photo also has a caption that reads, “Fake news cannibalizes real news.”

For those unaware, Hannibal Lecter character is played by Anthony Hopkins in the psychological thriller of 1991. He essayed the role of a cannibal who had been ordered to arrest another serial killer claiming female victims.
