With smart phones in everyone’s hand rapists invariably record crime on their phone and then upload it on internet to go viral. But what is more shocking is that in Uttar Pradesh rape videos are being sold in hundreds or thousands anywhere from Rs 50 to 150.
In the cities like Agra, Meerut and Bareilly this business has become open and rampant. There are some individuals and gangs working in this business that download such stuff from Twitter, Tumbler or Facebook accounts and sell it.
Dealers download these videos which are 30 seconds to even 5 minutes long directly into customers’ smart phones. Some of them sell these videos through pend drives. But one has to have some reference of a trusted customer to get these videos.
This business is running right under the nose police and administration. Even though the city police have been conducting raids on the suspected shops, this murky business is mushrooming all over the state. For the police it has been nearly impossible to put an end to the trade.
In one of the disturbing videos a couple, in their 20s could be seen detained by some goons and threatening them. The boyfriend of the girls is being beaten up and the girl pinned down begging not to shoot the video.
