In a major development to Muzaffarpur shelter home rape case, Bihar Social Welfare Minister Manju Verma resigned from her post. According to the police, call records proves that her husband Chandrashekhar Verma was in touch with Brijesh Thakur on a regular basis. The police confirmed there are seventeen calls exchanged between minister’s husband and Thakur has been confirmed. Apart from calls, Mr Verma personally visited the Muzaffarpur shelter home nine times and each time he spent several hours there.

Manju Verma has confronted with the evidence of call records and confessed of the connections between her husband and the NGO owner Thakur. Accepting the allegations she said that her husband did talk to him but they were unaware that he is a criminal.A wife of Muzaffarpur Child Protection Officer Ravi Roshan, Shiba Kumari has alleged that the Manju Verma’s husband was a frequent visitor at the shelter home.

Earlier she had announced that if her husband is found to have any connection with the Muzaffarpur shelter home case prime accused, Brijesh Thakur, she will resign from her position. The opposition party in Bihar had also been demanding demanding her resignation, claiming that her husband Chandrashekhar Verma had a direct link up with Brijesh Thakur.
