A 25-year-old computer science student from Mysuru, who was pursuing higher studies at the California State University in USA, was shot dead by an unidentified person on Thursday at a hotel where he was working part-time.
The victim identified as Abhishek Sudhesh Bhat, is the son of popular yoga master Sudesh Chand, a resident of Kuvempunagar in the city. The family members of the victim are struggling to bring his mortal remains to Mysuru as all roads to San Bernardino have been cut off due to bad weather. The family is yet to receive an official report from the Indian embassy in the US.

Abhishek’s cousin, Srivatsa, said that the former had studied engineering at Vidhya Vikas Engineering College in Mysuru before leaving for the US two years ago. Srivatsa said a friend of Abhishek, who also works in the same motel, informed his family members that their son had been shot dead by an attacker.
Abhishek’s body was found in front of a hotel room, where he used to work. It is reported that he was shot while returning home from his work.
