National Youth Day 2024 (India): January 12 is observed as National Youth Day in India. The selection of this date was made in observance of the birthday of Swami Vivekananda, a highly esteemed spiritual and social figure in India. Every infant represented a ray of optimism for him, and he was convinced that “nerves of steel” and “iron muscles” could effect social change. Swami embodied the perpetual vitality of youth and an unquenchable pursuit of truth. Presently, nearly half of the population of India is below the age of 25. The nation’s future is precariously balanced on their shoulders; thus, celebrations must empower youth.
