NEET UG 2023: In addition to raising application fees and reducing the number of exam locations, NTA has made another significant change to the NEET UG medical entrance exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has modified the NEET tie-breaking strategy (NEET UG). The tie breaking policy determines who will be put higher in the merit if two or more students have the same number. Until last year, the tie was decided by age and NEET UG entry number. However, NTA removed the irrational regulation of assigning higher ranks based on age and application number this time. NTA issued only 7 rules in 2023 after removing the last two rules from the total of nine tie-breaking rules published in 2022.

In the event of a tie, the marks in Biology will be evaluated first to determine their position, according to the NEET UG 2023 tie-breaking policy. The student with the highest score in Biology (Botany and Zoology) will be put higher in the rankings. If no consensus is reached, the marks from Chemistry and Physics will be compared.

The NEET tiebreaker algorithm

1- The student with the highest score in Biology (Botany and Zoology) will be put higher in the rank.

2- If the Biology factor does not determine the rank, the Chemistry marks will be evaluated. The student who receives the highest grade in Chemistry will be put higher in the rankings.

3- Following this, the Physics scores will be revealed. The person with the highest physics grade will be put higher in the ranking.

4- The person who provides fewer incorrect responses than correct answers will be placed higher.

5- The candidate with the lowest ratio of attempted wrong answers to correct answers in Biology (Botany and Zoology) will be put first.

6- The candidate with the lowest ratio of attempted wrong responses to correct answers in Chemistry will be placed first.

7- The candidate with the lowest proportion of attempted incorrect answers in Physics.

Admission to MBBS for a student who earned a perfect score on the NEET was cancelled, but the complainant student was given a spot.

This time, points were deducted.

– An older candidate will be put above.

Rank will be determined based on the rising order of NEET application numbers (ascending order).
