Since its launch in 2016 in India, Netflix has always provided its users with drool-worthy and cheaper plans to stream. The streaming giant is now testing a mobile plan for Rs 299 that will let users stream in HD and allow them to watch shows and movies on a phone, a tablet, and a laptop.

This Rs 299 plan will allow subscribers to watch shows in high definition (HD) on one screen at a time. Netflix’s website has listed the plan as a Mobile Plus plan and notes that users can access the streaming service on a phone, a tablet, or a laptop. The plan is still in the testing phase.

At present a plan of Rs. 649 will have to be recharged to see HD content on your mobile phone. This plan helps one to stream on TVs, laptops, desktops with the help of Chromecast.

A plan of Rs 299 can be a good option that provides the user access to HD content on laptops and mobiles. However, this plan does not provide streaming facilities on TV.

In addition, 4K HDR content is available at Rs 749. Netflix can also be seen on mobile, TV, laptop, and computer in this plan.

Currently, the cheapest Netflix plan is Rs 199 which is exclusive for India. The plan is only for mobiles, tablet users in India. The smartphone/tablet-only plan does support offline downloads.

The biggest catch in this cheapest plan was that it only had SD or standard definition content at 480p resolution.

Netflix also seems to be testing a basic plan priced at Rs 499, which is also listed on the streaming giant’s website. The plan lets users stream shows on any phone, tablet, computer, or TV but in Standard Definition (SD).
