New Vande Bharat Trains Announced: Indian Railways is back in the news with the announcement and the launch of the new Vande Bharat Express services that would entirely change the way trains are used in India. The semi-high-speed trains that the rail ministry has just released have all the features from better connectivity in the Northeast to the faster daily travels and business trips in central India.

Indian Railways, in an update, has just announced that 2 new Vande Bharat routes will be opened in Bihar namely, Patna–Ayodhya and Purnia–Danapur. These services will not only enable easy transportation within the state but also reduce the travel time significantly for daily commuters as well as holiday travelers.

At the same time, a historic event is coming closer with the Vande Bharat Sleeper train, the very first one of its kind, being introduced, aimed at the long-distance overnight train travelers. This sleeper version with 100% air-conditioned coaches and comfortable berths will initially connect Kamakhya (Guwahati) in Assam with Howrah (Kolkata). It carries the promise of upscale traveling even on the longer routes that have always been served by the regular overnight trains.

Schedule, Route & Stoppage Details

1. Kamakhya–Howrah Vande Bharat Sleeper

This historic sleeper service, India’s first will cover around 966 km between Guwahati and Howrah, targeting six days a week operations (excluding Saturdays). It’s designed for overnight travel, with stops scheduled at important intermediate stations while ensuring a smooth and timely journey for travelers.

  • Journey time: Approximately 14 hours 30 minutes
  • Frequency: Six days a week
  • Stops: 8 intermediate stations between Kamakhya and Howrah
  • Classes: AC First, AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier sleeper coaches
  • Catering and amenities: Onboard catering, large windows, baggage space, modern safety systems

2. Patna–Ayodhya / Purnia–Danapur

These services were announced with the intention of making it easier for passengers and will connect the important cities within Bihar and even, therefore, lessening the travel time and promoting regional movement. Schedule, stops, and fare information will be available in a short time after the services are inaugurated.

Maximum Speed and Technology

Speed along with a highly developed design is one of the main things that Vande Bharat railway coaches have. The latest sleeper coach of the Vande Bharat train has already reached a maximum speed of 180km/h while in the process of getting certified. This is a very important achievement that shows how well the machine is built, and that it can handle the modern type of traveling by train.

The regular operations may at first be limited up to about 120-130 km/h, depending on the track’s capability, also but the high-speed feature has already been established.
