Barwani: A heartbreaking incident has occurred in Barwani’s district headquarters, exposing a horrific act of inhumanity.

A baby girl was found abandoned in the basement of a home in Ranipura around 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening. Ritesh, a Ranipura resident, heard the infant’s screams and found her wrapped in cloth holding a bottle of milk. An appeal was made nearby for someone to care for the girl and send her to an orphanage.

As soon as Ritesh was alerted, the Kotwali police arrived on the scene and transported the newborn to the hospital. Currently, the infant is stable, but he remains in the intensive care unit for observation and treatment.

Dinesh Kushwaha, in-charge of the City Kotwali police station, acknowledged that the matter is being investigated and a complaint will be filed. In addition, they are searching for relatives and analyzing hospital records to determine whether any recent births match this description.

Ritesh Rathod, an eyewitness, and Rupesh Mairiya, a health worker, were both shocked by the incident.

The police are reviewing CCTV footage in order to obtain additional evidence and are conducting the investigation from all angles in order to ensure justice is served in this awful case.
