Around 6 a.m. Thursday, the price of a barrel of WTI crude oil on the world market fell by 0.37% and is now $83.16. Petrol and Diesel prices in the US have dropped by 0.14% to $87.26 a barrel.

The chief minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma, will also lower the VAT rate on petrol and diesel by 2% starting Friday. Sharma said that because of the lower VAT, people would save between Rs 1.40 and Rs 5.30 on petrol and Rs 1.34 to Rs 4.85 on diesel. Petrol costs 31.04% VAT and diesel costs 19.30% VAT, according to the government of Rajasthan.
Petrol and Diesel prices might go up since more people will want to buy them.
