Nishaanchi Release Date: Anurag Kashyap’s got a new crime thriller on the way; Nishaanchi. Circle September 19 on your calendar, because that’s when it’s hitting theaters all over India. The first-look poster just dropped (Amazon MGM Studios India plastered it all over socials on July 31), and honestly? It’s got that retro, dark, and mysterious energy. Looks like Kashyap’s stepping back into the big-screen game after hanging out on digital platforms for a bit. About time, if you ask me.
Aaishvary Thackeray Debut
Aaishvary Thackeray is making his acting debut. Yep, that’s Balasaheb Thackeray’s grandson. Not just hopping on the family name, though; kid’s put in the work. He started out as an assistant director on Bajirao Mastani, so he’s not exactly fresh off the boat. Now he’s jumping into a double role, which, let’s be real, is a gutsy move for a newbie.
Nishaanchi Release Date: Cast and Storyline
Aaishvary’s not alone here. There’s Vedika Pinto, Monika Panwar, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Kumud Mishra, and Vineet Kumar Singh pretty solid lineup if you’re keeping score. Kashyap’s co-writing with Prasoon Mishra and Ranjan Chandel, and the plot? Two brothers, one tangled up in crime, the other caught in the crossfire of fate. It’s all about power, backstabbing, redemption, and messy family stuff. Basically, classic Kashyap but with a new twist.

The poster that dropped? Straight-up Kashyap vibes. Think Gangs of Wasseypur meets Gulaal gritty, raw, in-your-face. Fans already losing their minds, calling it “Wasseypur 2.0.” There’s a slick, polished look to it now, but that punch-in-the-gut intensity is still there. You can almost smell the gunpowder and cheap whiskey.
Anurag Kashyap’s Directorial
Funny thing, Kashyap actually cooked up this idea back in 2016. Took almost a decade to get it off the ground. Apparently, Amazon MGM Studios India finally threw him the keys and said, “Go nuts.” For a director who hates playing by the rules, that’s music to his ears. Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh (from Jar Pictures and Flip Films) helped push this thing from pipe dream to big-screen reality.
Nishaanchi isn’t just another movie on the calendar. It’s Kashyap back in his element, with a fresh face (and famous last name) leading the charge. If you’ve missed that raw, messy, emotionally-charged Kashyap chaos, this one’s for you. September 19, 2025 grab your popcorn, this is gonna be a ride.
