Bihar chief minister, Nitish Kumar reacted promptly on Sharad Yadav’s response on the political disturbance in the state saying, “stop sulking and debate in party forum.” The forum is the national executive of the Janata Dal United and will be held in Patna on 19 August. It will also decide whether the party will join the ruling NDA.

Kumar has also confessed that before taking any decision, he always keeps in the mind “what is best for the party”. He said that he told Sharad about his choice to break alliance with Lalu Yadav and seek backing from BJP.

Sharad, who held the post of the party chief for a decade, had stepped aside last year, making way for Kumar. The change was seen as providing CM the more space to make choices. But, his decision to dump the grand alliance and form government in association with BJP was made without consulting JD(U) veteran.

This caused a huge buzz among the opposition. It was said that Sharad Yadav was disappointed with Kumar’s decision. Lalu Yadav even asked him to lead the battle against the BJP.

On Monday, Sharad Yadav had said, “Whatever happened is very unfortunate; the mandate by the people was not for this”.
