Noida Fee Regulation Committee orders private schools not to raise fee by 7.88%

NEW DELHI: The order has been issued for the private schools by the Noida District Fee Regulation Committee regarding the fee hike. The order is about that fee should not increase by more than 7.88 percent in the upcoming academic year because this has made student’s parents, who are studying in Noida’s private schools displeased.

The All Noida School Parents Association (ANSPA) has argued over the decision of fee hike by 7.88 percent and says it is unjustified and will meet the district magistrate to discuss this on January 4, 2020.

The Noida DFRC has written to schools informing them about the cap on fee-hike. The letter issued also instructs Noida schools to disclose their fee structure and upload the revised structure for 2020-21 on their official websites and on notice boards by January 30, 2020.

Yatendra Kasana, president of ANPSA, quoted in an interview with Careers360 and said, “The recent order is arbitrary and unjustified. They say that the fee hike has been decided based on consumer price index (CPI). Who calculated this CPI? Till last year, they use to increase it by 10 percent. So, will they refund the excess fee? There is a lack of clarity and we will raise the issue with the DM, when we meet him on January 4.”

To stop arbitrary fee-hike in private schools, the Uttar Pradesh Government enacted the Uttar Pradesh Self-Financed Independent Schools (Fees Regulation) Act 2018.
