As per the US government, North Korean agents have murdered the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Malaysia, said US government sources on Tuesday. However, American establishments have not yet determined how Kim Jong Nam was killed, according to two sources, who did not deliver specific evidence to support the U.S. government’s view.

North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un’s half-brother has been assassinated in Malaysia, South Korean media reported. According to media reports, Kim Jong-nam was killed at Kuala Lumpur airport by two women with “poisoned needles”.

The women are believed to be North Korean spies and they escaped in a taxi, TV Chosun reported. Malaysian Police officer quoted by Reuters said that an unidentified Korean man was died near the airport and the man’s identity was yet to be confirmed.

Kim Jong-nam, eldest son of Kim Jong-il, went into hiding in Malaysia after the execution in December 2013 of his uncle, Jang Song-thaek. He had spoken out publicly against his family’s dynastic control in the North Korea.

In 2011, he had survived an assassination attempt in Macao. Probe is on into the incident.
