NSUI questions DUSU VP Shakti Singh’s validation

New Delhi: National Students Union of India (NSUI) has raised questions about Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) Vice President Shakti Singh attendance sheet and claims that it is incomplete. NSUI also alleged that Singh not only is running short of attendance but also failed in some course.

AICC Joint-Secretary and NSUI in charge Ruchi Gupta said, “There is some attendance sheet floating around on social media which indicates the irregularities”. She further asked the Delhi University Administration to do a proper investigation in his attendance sheet and his mark sheet in order to ensure that Lyngdoh Committee recommendations are dually followed and issued a clarification in this matter.

NSUI and All India Students Association (AISA) held a joint press conference today in this matter and alleged that DU administration is violating the Lyngdoh Committee recommendations.

AISA alleged Shakti Singh for inciting violence in Zakir Hussain College during DUSU polls.

NSUI is looking for a legal option in this regard and further stressed upon the fulfillment of due process as per the rules related to the Students Union election.

“If DU Admin continues to show itself to be servile to the interests of the ABVP, we will pursue this matter in Court,” said NSUI in charge Ruchi Gupta.
