According to New York lottery officials, Angelique Angel-Rodriguez of Jackson Heights, Queens, was the fortunate recipient of a second-prize Powerball ticket worth $1 million in September of last year. At 37th Avenue Grocery, situated at 82-06 37th Ave. in Jackson Heights, the ticket was acquired.
On September 27, 2023, she matched the first five numbers drawn. Those evening’s drawing yielded the following winning numbers: 1, 7, 46, 47, 63, and Powerball 7.
Following the deductibility of mandatory deductions, Angel-Rodriguez was granted a singular, all-cash payment amounting to $612,240.

Angel-Rodriguez is a production apprentice for DLA Films and an aspiring actress, per her LinkedIn profile. This year, she will earn her diploma from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City.
From one to sixty-nine, the winning numbers for the Powerball are selected at random. From one to twenty-six, the Powerball number is selected in a separate field. To be eligible for the jackpot, participants must align the red Powerball number with any five white balls in any possible sequence.
Tickets for the Powerball are available for $2 at any New York Lottery retailer, all day, every day of the week. Ticket purchases must be completed by 10 p.m. on draw evenings.
Weekly drawings take place at 11 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. To avoid last-minute lines, the New York Lottery advises participants to purchase tickets in advance.
