Odisha govt to introduce short-term certificate course on COVID-19 management

After the course is completed, a certificate will be issued to the inmates.

Odisha govt to introduce short-term certificate course on COVID-19 management

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has decided to offer certificate courses on COVID-19 management for inmates of Temporary Medical Camps (TMCs) in the state. After the course is completed, a certificate will be issued to the inmates.

After the quarantine period ends, they will work as COVID-19 volunteers in their villages to spread awareness of deadly diseases and help the government control the virus.

This decision had been made at a review meeting on containment of COVID-19  and revival of economy held via video conference under chairmanship of  Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today.

In the meeting, it was also decided to increase the number of beds in the COVID Care Centres in Ganjam, Balasore, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Balangir in next week.

In addition, the CM decided to issue three ordinances to strengthen the state’s farm economy.  To restore livelihoods and economy,  the CM instructed official concerned to speed up MGNREGS and Mission Shakti programmes in the state.

He asked all departments to make plans to provide works to more number of people in the respective fields. Patnaik has also assured to approve additional funding to strengthen the rural economy.

“Mission Shakti workers have so far made over 50 lakh masks, out of which 46 lakh have already been distributed. Meanwhile, Rs 300 crore interest free loans have been provided to SHGs,”  informed a communique issued by the CMO,

DGP Abhay and Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy also attended the meeting.
