OnePlus Open: OnePlus initially teased the launch of the forthcoming foldable smartphones at the India launch event for the OnePlus 11 5G. The company has hinted that the upcoming devices will debut in the third quarter of 2023. Later, OnePlus confirmed that the forthcoming foldable device will debut under the moniker OnePlus Open.

Later, the source disclosed that the smartphone launch was delayed due to quality control issues. Reportedly, OnePlus sourced foldable displays from Samsung instead of BOE. The Chinese smartphone giant has confirmed the TechCrunch Disrupt 2023 launch of OnePlus Open, its first foldable device.

Robin Liu, CEO of OnePlus North America, and Dr. Zeng Xi, Creative Director, announced that the launch of OnePlus’ foldable device signifies the company’s 10-year anniversary. Zeng emphasized that OnePlus will continue to uphold its “Never Settle” slogan with the upcoming product releases. OnePlus has not specified a release date or timeline for its forthcoming foldable smartphone.

In the coming weeks, the public will learn more about the forthcoming OnePlus Open smartphone via the OnePlus website, OnePlus forums, and social media channels. The upcoming smartphone, according to Max Jambor, will debut globally on October 19. The source added that the smartphone will be available for purchase shortly after its debut.

The source confirms that there will not be many delays before the beginning of smartphone sales. Yogesh Brar, a well-known tipster, recently suggested that the OnePlus smartphone will be priced below Rs 1,20,000. The smartphone will compete against the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, the TECNO Phantom V Fold, and the forthcoming OPPO Find N3 smartphones.

The forthcoming foldable device from OnePlus is rumored to be a rebranded OPPO Find N3 smartphone. As previously mentioned, the smartphone’s leaked images reveal the presence of a large camera module. In collaboration with Hasselblad, OnePlus will equip the smartphone’s rear with three cameras.

On the right side of the camera module, alongside a Time-of-Flight (ToF) or LiDAR sensor, is the Hasselblad logo. Above the camera module and LED flash in the upper left corner of the device is the OnePlus logo. The device’s outer screen will be larger and similar to OPPO Find N2.

Previous leaks indicate that OnePlus will equip the device with a secondary AMOLED display measuring 6.3 inches. The primary foldable AMOLED display will be 7.8 inches in size and feature a 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The device will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The foldable device will ship with Oxygen OS 13.1, which is based on Android 13.

The chipset is compatible with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The smartphone is anticipated to debut in Black and Green hues. The device will feature a primary 48MP sensor, a secondary 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a third 64MP telephoto lens. OnePlus Open will be backed by a 4800mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.
