Conan O’Brien Returns as Oscar Host
The 2026 Oscars will again be hosted by Conan O’Brien. This will be his second year in a row as the host. Last year was his first time hosting and the response was very positive. Many viewers and critics praised his style and jokes.

The Academy was also very happy with his performance. “Conan was the perfect host — skillfully guiding us through the evening with humor, warmth and reverence,” said Bill Kramer, CEO of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and Janet Yang, the group’s president, in a statement.
Because of this strong response the Academy decided to bring him back for another year.
Big Movies and Stars
The 2026 Oscars are expected to be very competitive. Ryan Coogler’s vampire movie “Sinners” will compete closely with Paul Thomas Anderson’s dark comedy “One Battle After Another.” The second film stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn and is already getting a lot of attention.
Many famous actors are also expected to do well this year. Leonardo DiCaprio is in the race along with Ethan Hawke for “Blue Moon.” Timothée Chalamet is being noticed for “Marty Supreme.” Michael B. Jordan has strong buzz for “Sinners.” Jessie Buckley is getting praise for “Hamnet” and Emma Stone is being talked about for “Bugonia.”
When it comes to nominations “Sinners” is leading with 16 nominations. This breaks the all-time Oscar record that many people were expecting to fall. “One Battle After Another” follows with 13 nominations. Other films like “Marty Supreme,” “Frankenstein,” “Sentimental Value,” and “Hamnet” have also received multiple nominations.
