Panchkula will go for polls on October 21 along with 89 other Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) constituencies in Haryana. It is a part of Panchkula district and falls under It is under Ambala Lok Sabha constituency. Gian Chand Gupta of the Bharatiya Janata Party is the current Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA) of Panchkula.

In the 2014 Haryana Vidhan Sabha (Haryana Legislative Assembly) Elections, Bharatiya Janata Party’s Gian Chand Gupta defeated INLD hope Kal Bhushan Goyal, by a whopping margin of more than 44 thousand votes. Gupta polled 69916 votes to Goyal’s 25314.
