Three suspects were detained on Tuesday, a day after suspicious bag with army fatigues was found in Pathankot. Reportedly, the three people have been apprehended from Sujanpur in Punjab’s Pathankot district. Their identity is yet to be released.
Soon after the bag was found, Army officials started conducting a search operation in the area. They handed over the suspects to the police for further probe.
Reportedly, after seeing the footprints of the intruders from Hiranagar sector of J&K and getting army uniforms in Pathankot, numerous agencies along with the Army issued a high alert.
Harkrishna Singh, Sujanpur Station House Officer (SHO) said, “The police is investigating the matter and are trying to find out the reason of the three men roaming around the strategic location of Pathankot air base”.
Primary investigation revealed that all the suspects are from Assam.
Pathankot was kept on high alert after a bag with three Army uniforms was found. The area was sealed and Army jawans, police teams and commandoes started hunting.
