Pati Patni Aur Woh Do Box Office Collection Day 1:Ayushmann Khurrana’s latest romantic comedy-drama Pati Patni Aur Woh Do has taken a slow start at the Indian box office. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film released in theatres on May 15 and stars Ayushmann alongside Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi and Rakul Preet Singh.
According to early trade estimates shared by Sacnilk, the film collected around ₹3.85 crore nett in India on its opening day. The number is significantly lower than the opening-day collection of Kartik Aaryan’s 2019 hit Pati Patni Aur Woh, which had earned ₹9.10 crore on Day 1.
Trade analysts believe the mixed word-of-mouth and limited pre-release buzz affected the film’s opening occupancy. Reports suggest the movie recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of nearly 12% on Friday, with evening and night shows performing slightly better than morning shows.
The spiritual sequel was expected to benefit from the popularity of the 2019 film, which starred Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday. However, the latest instalment failed to recreate the same excitement among audiences during its initial theatrical run.
