Athiradi Box Office Collection Day 2:
The Malayalam action-comedy drama Athiradi, starring Tovino Thomas, Basil Joseph and Vineeth Sreenivasan, is still holding up an impressive theatrical run, even after a tiny dip on its second day at the box office. The movie is continuing to stay strong, despite that Day 2 drop. Directed by Arun Anirudhan, the film has now come out as one of the strongest Malayalam openings of 2026.
As per early trade estimates shared by industry trackers and entertainment reports, Athiradi collected around Rs 4.25 crore net in India on Day 2, showing a 23.4% fall against its Day 1 collection of Rs 5.55 crore. Even with that decline, it apparently kept solid occupancy during the evening and night shows, particularly across Kerala centres, with the crowd showing up fairly steady.

Now, the film’s worldwide gross total is estimated to have reached about Rs 21.97 crore in just two days after release, which points to strong audience pull in both domestic and overseas markets. Some reports also say the movie is getting extra attention from younger viewers , mainly because it plays out like a campus entertainer, plus there is energetic storytelling and mass appeal working in its favour.
Trade portal Sacnilk further mentioned that Athiradi was shown across more than 1,700 shows on Day 2. Kerala kept contributing most of the collections, while Karnataka and Tamil Nadu also delivered steady numbers. For night shows, occupancy is reported to have stayed high in big centres like Kochi, Kozhikode, and Thrissur.

About the Film
Released on May 14, 2026, Athiradi hit the ground running a kind of way, with a worldwide Day 1 collection that’s close to Rs 10 crore, so it has basically turned into one of Mollywood’s biggest openings this year. Its strong advance bookings, along with this social media buzz, really helped the early momentum feel sharper than usual.

The film itself kind of circles around a college festival rivalry, and then it mixes action, comedy, music, and that youthful drama vibe too. Critics, as usual, have been giving mixed-to-positive notes, but the audience reaction has stayed mostly favourable, and that’s what allowed it to keep going through the opening weekend.
Now, since the weekend is still ongoing, trade analysts are expecting Athiradi to see another rise in collections on Day 3. If the same pattern continues, the Tovino Thomas starrer might soon find itself among the highest-grossing Malayalam films of 2026, or at least very close to that milestone.
